Gentle Technique
NorthFin employs a state-of-the-art low-heat Steam Extrusion process to manufacture its premium product line. Our Double Screw Steam Extrusion method gently processes ingredients, preserving essential nutrients and vitamins in the final product. In contrast, conventional dry extruding methods can significantly degrade and destroy these vital nutrients.
Where Quality Begins
NorthFin uses premium Antarctic Krill that is flash-frozen and shipped to Canada. All of our meals are preserved with Naturox and are approved by USDA, CFIA, and EU Category 3. The combination of these high-quality ingredients, along with our drying process, allows the foods to be naturally preserved.

Krill are shrimp-like marine invertebrates rich in nutrients. Whole Antarctic Krill Meal boasts over 60% high-quality protein, providing essential amino acids, fatty acids, and vitamins, as well as important minerals like iron, phosphorus, and calcium. This meal is of human consumption grade.
Krill are a natural source of carotenoids, with over 95% of their pigments in the form of astaxanthin. Astaxanthin not only serves as a natural pigment but also acts as a photoprotector and antioxidant. Studies have shown that astaxanthin can enhance growth rates and support the immune function of both fish and shrimp. Harvested from the pristine Antarctic Ocean, Antarctic Krill are processed within an hour and packed on specially equipped ships to maintain their freshness, taste, and superior quality.
High DHA Omega-3 Whole Herring Meal (Certified) (Naturox Preserved)
High DHA* Omega-3 Whole Herring Meal represents the highest grade of fish meal, offering an elevated concentration of DHA. This premium product is derived from Whole Atlantic Herring (Clupea harengus), which is freshly caught and frozen within minutes on well-maintained Canadian vessels. Upon arrival at port, the catch is processed within approximately two hours.
*DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) is a fatty acid found in cold-water fish such as Herring and Salmon. A high concentration of DHA supports the healthy development of your aquarium fish.
Whole Sardine Meal

Closely related to herring, they are often mistaken for smaller members of the herring family because of their similar appearance and behaviour. Sardines are harvested in both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, where regulated fisheries ensure consistent quality and sustainability.
Whole Sardine Meal is naturally rich in high-quality protein and long-chain Omega 3 fatty acids such as EPA and DHA. Whole Kelp

Kelp is a type of marine seaweed found in cold, nutrient-rich waters and occurs in red, green, and brown varieties. It is naturally dense in minerals, amino acids, and vitamins, and provides a broad nutritional profile that supports metabolic and digestive health. On average, kelp meal contains more than 60 minerals, 21 amino acids, and 12 vitamins, along with nitrogen, potassium, carbohydrates, and important micronutrients.
Kelp is also a natural source of bioactive compounds and plant hormones that promote improved nutrient absorption and overall physiological balance.
