How we make it

Whole ingredients, by design.

We craft with precision, source with intention, and manufacture nutrition you can trust. A state-of-the-art low-heat steam extrusion process, premium marine sources, and Naturox preservation — with no compromise.

The process

Six stages from meal to package.

  1. Stage 01

    Ingredient intake

    Premium meals + ingredients

Whole-fish meals — Antarctic Krill, High DHA Omega-3 Herring, Sardine — arrive at our Neustadt, Ontario facility alongside Whole Organic Kelp, garlic, astaxanthin, montmorillonite clay, and a complete vitamin & mineral premix. Every shipment is inspected and logged before it touches a mixer.

  2. Stage 02

    Mixing

Weighed to spec, blended with water

Ingredients are weighed to formula spec and blended with water into a uniform mash — every gram in every bag carries the same complete nutritional profile.

  3. Stage 03

    Twin-screw steam extrusion

    Low-heat, nutrient preserving

The blend is fed through a low-heat twin-screw steam extruder that gently shapes each pellet — preserving essential nutrients and vitamins that conventional high-heat dry extrusion can degrade or destroy.

  4. Stage 04

    Dryer

    Precise moisture content

A low-heat dryer gently sets the structure and brings every pellet to its target moisture content — delivering shelf stability and consistent buoyancy without harsh thermal damage.

  5. Stage 05

    Cooling

    Climate-controlled, pre-inspection

Pellets are cooled to ambient temperature in clean, climate-controlled conditions — preserving nutritional integrity and preparing each batch for QC inspection.

  6. Stage 06

    Packaging

    Sealed for distribution

Final QC, then sealed into moisture-barrier packaging for consistent freshness from batch to batch — ready to ship to retailers and distributors worldwide.

Our twin-screw steam extrusion method gently processes the blend, preserving the essential nutrients and vitamins in the final pellet. Conventional high-heat dry extrusion can significantly degrade and destroy these vital nutrients — we don’t take that shortcut.
The four pillars

Our marine ingredient sources.

Euphausia superba

100% Whole Antarctic Krill Meal

60%+ protein

Krill are shrimp-like marine invertebrates harvested from the pristine Antarctic Ocean — processed into Whole Antarctic Krill Meal within an hour aboard equipped vessels to maintain freshness. The meal boasts over 60% high-quality protein and provides essential amino acids, fatty acids, and minerals.

A natural source of carotenoids — over 95% of krill pigments are astaxanthin, which acts as both a natural pigment and a powerful antioxidant. Studies show astaxanthin can enhance growth rates and support immune function in fish and shrimp.

High DHA Omega-3 Whole Herring Meal

High DHA

High DHA Omega-3 Whole Herring Meal represents the highest grade of fish meal available — derived from whole Atlantic herring, freshly caught and frozen within minutes on well-maintained Canadian vessels.

Catch is processed within approximately two hours of arrival at port. DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) is a fatty acid found in cold-water fish that supports the healthy development of aquarium fish.

Whole Sardine Meal

EPA + DHA

Sardines are small pelagic fish that travel in dense schools, harvested in regulated Pacific and Atlantic fisheries that ensure consistent quality and sustainability. Whole Sardine Meal is naturally rich in EPA and DHA Omega-3 fatty acids.

Sardines feed low on the marine food chain, so they contain fewer environmental contaminants and maintain a cleaner nutritional profile. They also provide selenium, calcium, and phosphorus for skeletal development.

Whole Organic Kelp

60+ minerals

Kelp is a marine seaweed found in cold, nutrient-rich waters. Whole Organic Kelp contains more than 60 minerals, 21 amino acids, and 12 vitamins, along with nitrogen, potassium, and important micronutrients.

A natural source of bioactive compounds and plant hormones that improve nutrient absorption and overall physiological balance. Helps fish make better use of every other ingredient in the formula.

Beneficial additions

Functional, with purpose.

Spirulina Pacifica

Highly nutritious microalgae rich in vegetable protein, beta carotene, and phycocyanin — a bioactive pigment unique to this algae that supports antioxidant activity.

Garlic

Enhances palatability, encourages consistent feeding, supports immune function, and offers natural anti-parasitic properties.

Astaxanthin

A carotenoid that naturally enhances pigmentation — promoting deeper, more vibrant red and orange tones while supporting cellular health.

Calcium Montmorillonite Clay

A broad mineral profile with at least 67 identified minerals — addressing dietary gaps and supporting digestive efficiency.
